Island Line

The Island Line runs under the northern part of Hong Kong island, from Sheung Wan in the west to Chai Wan in the east.  The station platforms along this line have their names in Chinese calligraphy on the platforms; all that is except for the last two stations in the East.  Heng Fa Cheun and Chai Wan are overground stations, and for reasons I cannot fathom yet, the distinct style of Chinese calligraphy to highlight the station names on these platforms was abandoned when these stations were built. And, even at Hong Kong's busiest of stations at Central and Admiralty, only one block of calligraphy remains, pushed to the very ends of the platforms as if hidden by embarrassment; such a shame.
